  • More than 18 years experience
  • Prior to joining Hinduja hospital I was working as a Consultant Surgical Oncologist and Liver Transplant surgeon at Bombay hospital and Fortis hospital for four years.
  • Prior to this, I was working at Hospital Beaujon,   Clichy, France as a Fellow in Hepatobiliary Pancreatic surgery and Liver transplantation with Prof Jacques Belghiti- one of the world’s leading liver surgeons for a period of one year from May 2008 to April 2009.
  • This is one of the world’s leading HPB and liver transplantation centers with more than 250 liver resections and 100 liver transplantations per year. I have been actively involved in all these complex surgeries including the liver transplantations. I have independently performed more than 40 donor liver surgeries and  recipient surgeries for liver transplant under supervision.
  • I was also actively involved in scientific research . some of the work has been published in international journals while others are in the process of being submitted to leading journals.
  • Prior to this, I completed 3-year residency training program in surgical oncology from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai as a senior registrar from  September 2004 to August 2007. Tata Memorial Hospital is one of the best cancer centers in the country and is well recognized internationally. This residency program is one of the most sought after and prestigious training programs in surgical oncology.
  • Subsequently, I continued in the Tata Memorial Hospital for a period of 6 more months as a Senior Specialist Registrar in the Gastrointestinal and HPB oncology service since it was my field of interest. I was on this post from September 2007 to February 2008.
  • Completed 3 years Residency programme in General Surgery from February 2001 to January 2004 at LTMGH, Sion, Mumbai . This is one of the busiest trauma centers in India and one of the tertiary refferal centers attracting patients from all parts of the country.
  • One year rural service as a Medical Officer from 2000-2001 at the Rural Hospital Surgana, Nasik District. This included participation and implementation of various national health programs like the Tuberculosis control program, malaria eradication program and national family planning program among the rural parts  of India.
  • One year internship from 1999-2000 at Seth GSMC & KEM Hospital with 82 days training each in General Medicine, Genral Surgery, Preventive and Social Medicine, Obstetrics &Gynaecology with elective training in Chest and TB
  • Fellowship in Hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery and Liver Transplantation from Hospital Beaujon, Paris (2008-2009).
  • 4-year residency training program in surgical oncology from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai (2004 – 2008).
  • M.S. General Surgery from Bombay University in January 2004 with Post Graduate instruction from LTMMC Hospital, Sion, Mumbai.
  • M.B.B.S. from Bombay University in January 2000 with Professional Medical Instruction from Seth GSMC & KEM  Hospital, Parel, Mumbai.
