Introduction
Dr Shailesh Sable was born in Mumbai. He has completed his education from prestigious institutes in Mumbai and Aurangabad and has more than 12 years of experience in the field of Organ Transplants and Hepato-biliary & Pancreatic surgery. Dr Sable has been involved in nearly 1100 liver transplant over a period of 12 years. Dr Shailesh Sable has completed 2 years (Fellowship in Liver Transplantation) predominently living donor liver transplant or LDLT with Prof. Vinay Kumaran. Prior to that he completed his DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology & HPB surgery from Jagjivanram Western Railway Hospital, Mumbai under Diplomat of National Board, New Delhi, India which is a sub-specialization degree course (3 years) after Masters of surgery & DNB General Surgery (3 years).
During his tenure with Prof Vinay Kumaran, he has been involved as primary surgeon in various Paediatric liver transplants (reduced grafts & monosegment grafts), ABO-I LDLT, 1 Dual lobe LDLT, combined LDLT with sleeve gastrectomy, complete porto-caval transposition and Re-do LDLT, Split liver transplant and SWAP. Dr Sable has also collaborated with some of the pioneers in the field of paediatric liver transplantation like Prof Darius Mirza and Prof Mohammed Rela.
Dr Sable has also collaborated with Prof Anil Vaidya and was involved in 12 simultaneous Kidney-Pancreas transplants.
